This was in contrast to previous research finding that SSRIs diminished the effects of serotonergic psychedelics. As DMT has been shown to have slightly better potency (EC50) at the human serotonin 5-HT2C receptor than at the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor, the serotonin 5-HT2C receptor is also implicated in DMT's effects.
