When working in environments where combustible dusts may be present, the use of chains must follow mandatory safety standards to mitigate explosion risks and protect lives. Chains used in such areas must be made from inherently safe compositions, typically copper-nickel alloys, to minimize friction-induced ignition caused by impact or friction. Steel chains should be avoided unless they are rated under recognized safety standards and are anti-spark treated to suppress thermal discharge.

Before installation, perform a detailed condition assessment for signs of corrosion, pitting, or misalignment. Damaged chains can trigger explosions or collapse under stress, leading to life-threatening scenarios. Always use chains that are approved for your environment’s hazardous area class, such as those certified under ATEX or قیمت خرید زنجیر صنعتی IECEx standards. These certifications ensure the chain has been tested and approved for use in flammable gas or dust environments.

Lubrication is indispensable and subject to strict protocols. Use only approved, non-flammable lubricants that are compatible with the chain material and the surrounding atmosphere. Avoid unnecessary grease buildup, as over-applied lubricant may accumulate debris or serve as a fuel source. Apply lubricant in controlled amounts and decontaminate surfaces right away.

Never permit chains to strike rigid structures. Always handle them with meticulous control and approved rigging systems to avoid energy-releasing collisions. If chains must be used in areas with risk of static discharge, ensure they are electrically connected and earthed per regulations to avoid ignition from static energy.

Training is non-negotiable. All personnel handling chains in explosive environments must be trained on the site-specific dangers, approved usage protocols, and emergency response protocols. Scheduled safety reviews should be conducted to verify continuous safety performance.

Finally, always review technical documentation and jurisdictional codes. Equipment that is out-of-spec or improperly serviced can endanger personnel, even if it appears to be functioning correctly. In explosive environments, the negligible error can have unrecoverable losses, so following these protocols is mandatory.
