Ultimate Guide: Inserting 3D Objects in WPS Slides

Adding 3D objects to your WPS slides can significantly enhance the visual appeal and interactivity of your presentations, especially when explaining complex structures, products, or designs. WPS Presentation offers built-in 3D object support, enabling users to interact with them dynamically during playback.

To begin, ensure that your version of WPS Office is up to date, as older builds lack full 3D functionality. Open your presentation and navigate to the slide where you want to insert the 3D model. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon at the top of the window. Look for the 3D Models option, which is typically located in the Illustrations group. Select it to reveal a two-option menu: Online 3D Models and This Device.

Should you have a 3D asset stored on your device, such as in GLB format, select Local File. A dialog box appears so you can navigate to your model.

After inserting the model, it will appear on your slide with a set of handles around it. Change its dimensions via the bounding handles or reposition it with a simple drag.

To manipulate how the model is viewed, click on it to activate the 3D Model tab in the ribbon. You’ll gain access to 3D rotation tools for X, Y, and Z axes. Modify the illumination settings. Tweak surface textures and finishes. Include custom animations for spinning, floating, or cycling movements.

Set it to launch its motion as soon as the slide loads. Or make it respond to a mouse click.

For best visual results, consider adjusting the slide background to a solid color or subtle gradient. That does not compete with the model’s details.
