Dealing with a candle wax spill on your upholstery can be frustrating, but with the right steps you can remove it effectively without damaging the fabric. The key is to act quickly and use gentle methods that won’t harm your furniture. Follow these easy steps for effective wax removal.


First, let the wax harden completely. If it’s still soft or warm, place a plastic bag filled with ice over the spot for 10 to 15 minutes. This will make the wax brittle and easier to remove. Use a spoon or credit card edge to chip off the solidified wax gently. Scrape lightly to prevent pushing wax further into fibers.


After removing the bulk of the wax, place a clean, curtain cleaning Dubai lint-free cloth or paper towel over the area. Set your iron to a low heat setting with no steam. Press the iron gently over the cloth for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. As the wax liquefies, the fabric above will soak it up. Replace the cloth as needed when it becomes saturated with wax. Continue until no more wax transfers to the cloth.


Once the wax is gone, look for lingering oil marks on the fabric. If so, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda or cornstarch on the spot and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the oil. remove all residue with a suction cleaner.


Finally, wash or treat the area based on fabric type. common fabrics respond well to gentle soapy water. lightly dab the stain with a moistened towel. do not saturate the material. Let it air dry completely before using the furniture again.


Perform a patch test in an inconspicuous spot before full application. Using careful steps returns your furniture to its original condition.
